U.S. Foreign Policy and Economic Ripple Effects: South Asian Markets and Implications for the American Middle Class

Collection
Student Research Publications Repository
Abstract

This paper examines the economic effects of U.S. foreign policy decisions during the Trump administration, with a focus on trade and diplomatic strategies affecting South Asian markets. Through analysis of tariff policies, supply chain disruptions, and regional market responses, the study explores how shifts in global economic relationships influenced domestic economic conditions in the United States. Particular attention is given to the impact on middle-class households, including changes in consumer prices, employment stability, and sector-specific economic vulnerability. The findings suggest that foreign policy decisions can produce complex and often indirect economic consequences that extend beyond international markets, shaping everyday financial realities for American families.
